The volunteers at Tulsa Garden Center are the mainstay of our operation. Our volunteers come with varying degrees of gardening experience (we'll even admit we've turned a few brown thumbs green over the years). Our volunteers are the reason for our continued success.
Docents -- for house, conservatory and gardens (weather permitting) -- tours are scheduled upon requests of clubs, schools or other groups. Training is provided.
Library -- help patrons find information, check out/in materials for TGC members -- hours are 9am-4pm Monday-Friday (typing helpful but not necessary).
Mailing -- help fold and label bulk mailings as needed.
Gift Shop -- performs daily functions to maintain Garden & Gift Shop--hours are 10 am - 3:30 pm Monday-Saturday (cashier experience is helpful but not necessary)
Rose Garden/Woodward Park -- assist Park Department personnel from mid-April through October -- can be done at volunteer's convenience but some initial training is required.
Children's Programming -- serve on steering committee; assist with planting gardens and programming...May and June
SpringFest -- April 2008; serve on steering committee; help solicit and receive plants, help set up market, work during sale days as cashier, vendor assistant, or "floater", help with clean up following sale.
An Evening of Wine and Roses -- October 12, 2007; serve on steering committee; help on day and evening of the event.
