Herb Garden Tour
The Herb Garden is in the southern portion of the Linnaeus Garden, just to the east of the Learning Center and south of the Vegetable Garden.
The Garden has three raised planting beds, containing over 35 varieties of herbs.
A central feature of the garden area is a porous boulder planted with Moss Roses, Threadleaf Zinnias, various Sedums and Golden Lantana.
The walkway between the Herb Garden and the Fountain Garden is bordered by a "scented wall" planted with 4 varieties of Lavender.
A raised herb bed planted with Rosemary, Anise Hyssop, African Blue Basil, Parsley, Catmint, Lemon Balm and Orach. Cocoa hulls are used as mulch.
The herbs were selected, donated and planted by the Tulsa Herb Society.
The beds adjacent to the Learning Center contain Encore Re-blooming Azaleas, Winter Hardy Camellias and three other shrub varieties.
The Garden is more than just a place to visit. Part of our mission is to share our knowledge with the public.
The Herb Garden was the site of our first Linnaeus Teaching Garden Seminar. Linnaeus Garden volunteers teamed up with members of the Tulsa Herb Society to teach gardeners how to grow, harvest and preserve culinary and medicinal herbs.
